Long Biography for Allister Frost
Allister Frost is a business transformation and growth expert, known for his passion for helping others thrive through change and uncertainty. He is on a mission to save more than a million working lives from the risk of irrelevance and the lethal complacency of the comfort zone. By embedding a Future-Ready Mindset, he inspires busy professionals to transform change and uncertainty into opportunity.
Early in his career, he left the relative security of a leadership role with a global manufacturer to dive into the white waters of the emerging technology sector at Microsoft. He rose to become the software giant’s first Head of Digital Marketing Strategy, trailblazing revolutionary new communication channels and launching iconic global brand campaigns. To help his team thrive in perpetual ambiguity, he developed and codified a new mindset for career success. He calls this the ReadyAlready® Growth Cycle as explained in his book, ReadyAlready.
Since 2012, Allister has worked as a motivational speaker and business transformation advisor, helping leaders and teams at organisations including Cisco, Hyundai, 3M, Vodafone, Pfizer, and Bosch. His talks and coaching programmes inspire greater curiosity, imagination, and courageous collaboration to unlock continuous improvements, strengthen resiliency, and spark high-performance teamwork. His life story shows how anyone, regardless of their industry or the state of the economy, can keep up and thrive through uncertainty with a Future-Ready Mindset.
Allister specialises in helping professionals rethink their relationship with change at work, so they stretch their comfort zones and can realise their full career potential. His refreshingly simple approach to organisational transformation inspires leaders and teams to thrive in the face of ever-accelerating change. He provides the skills and positive outlook needed to stay future-ready for life, saving people from the lethal complacency of the comfort zone.

AUDIO-VISUAL RIDER
AV Preferences and Intro Script
AV Preferences
Allister uses Microsoft PowerPoint slides in 16:9 format to accompany his talks. His slides won’t be heavy or bullet-ridden; just a few words and images to guide the audience through the story. He also sometimes runs interactive polls during his talks to capture the mood of the audience and embeds these seamlessly into his PowerPoint slides.
THE 1,000,000% PREFERRED OPTION = ALLISTER’S LAPTOP 🙂
Allister ALWAYS prefers to present from his own laptop at the front of the room so he can control it and the flow of his talk. This ensures any audience interactions like live polls work as expected and minimises the risk of slide corruption between computers. Please provide a well-lit on-stage lectern or tall table for this purpose with a 220-240V power supply and a standard Type A HDMI cable connected to your screen(s). Please also provide reliable wi-fi access for Allister’s laptop and your audience for any interactive elements. If his talk includes videos, sound will be from his laptop via the HDMI output, and the footage will be embedded to autocue from within the slide deck. Allister brings his own slide clicker and a bag full of adapters.
BACKUP OPTION = YOUR SHOW PC 🙁
In the rare instances where having Allister’s own laptop on-stage is not possible, the fallback option is for him to (1) bring his slides on a USB stick or (2) to send them to your AV team to load on your show and backup PCs. To keep the content fresh, Allister will do option (2) no more than one week before your event. Additionally, we may need to give your AV producer limited access to Allister’s audience polling software (currently Vevox), and they will need to install the PowerPoint add-in on their live (and any backup) show PCs. Where this is not possible, the AV manager may prefer to cut to a live webpage to show the results of the live polling to the audience, but the PowerPoint add-in route is always cleanest and preferred.
We will also agree a time-slot for an on-site tech check, either before your event begins or during a break before Allister’s talk. In this configuration, he will use your slide clicker and require a large comfort monitor showing both slides and notes in PowerPoint Presenter View. A stage-facing countdown timer will also be needed to help him keep to time.
Other Notes and Requirements:
- Please provide:
- a wireless headset or lavalier microphone so Allister can move freely around the room
- at least one handheld microphone nearby for audience interactions during his talk
- Please stock the stage with still, room temperature water (not sparkling or chilled)
- Avoid using wireless presentation systems (e.g. Barco ClickShare) as these often introduce latency and may degrade image or video quality
- If required, Allister’s slide deck will be shared with you for the exclusive purpose of projection during his talk. You are not permitted to share or distribute copies. All content is licensed only for use during the performance and may not be re-used or re-purposed in any way
- No audio or video recordings may be taken or used of Allister’s performance without the prior written permission of Wild Orange Media Ltd. Allister reserves the right to audio or video record the performance for his own professional purposes, unless you request otherwise to office@wildorangemedia.com
How to introduce Allister at your event
This section is important! How you introduce your speaker to the audience can have a profound impact on your event success. The worst way to introduce a speaker is to ‘big them up’ or overstate their credentials, as this can set unrealistic expectations for the audience. Also, do not ‘pre-sell’ your speaker by talking about what they will do earlier in your event.
For best results, please use a simple, fact-based introduction that contains some intriguing elements that will make your audience sit up and pay attention.
The best introduction is always the one your speaker is expecting! So, here are our top tips gained from Allister’s talks at hundreds of events:
• Do not exaggerate how excited you are to welcome the speaker or overstate the significance of their being at your event (the audience can work this out for themselves!)
• Do not read out his biography or go into detail about his career (no-one cares!)
• Please do not explain what he is about to talk about (that’s his job!)
Instead, simply prepare a brief introduction that will help set the scene and transition seamlessly into the talk.
There are two approaches to this task: one easy, the other a little harder.
OPTION 1 (the easy way) – read this short script!
“It’s now time for me to introduce our guest speaker.
From his early career as Chief Puppy Controller for Andrex to breaking new ground as Microsoft’s first ever Digital Marketing Strategy Leader, he now helps people discover what truly makes us valuable in an A.I.-driven world.
As machines take over execution, he believes our success no longer stems from what we can do—but from a Future-Ready Mindset. And he’s here to share three human superpowers that will help you elevate your impact and unlock a lifetime of positive change.
Please welcome… ALLISTER FROST” […applause]
You do not have to memorise this script! Reading it is perfectly fine and will ensure you don’t skip any bits. Also, please do not ad-lib; it’s always better to be slow and clear than hurried and confusing!
Also, do not publish or share this script before your event. It has zero value for the audience outside of the few seconds before Allister’s talk begins. Keep it up your sleeve and simply read it just as it is, with a smile on your face. His talk actually begins when you start the intro!
OPTION 2 (the harder way) – Write your own intro!
If you enjoy creating work for yourself 😉 or prefer to write your own intro, please use elements from Allister’s biography and structure your intro around some of the following lines:
• Our speaker is a former Microsoft transformation leader with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of technology-fuelled change
• He is a trusted advisor to organisations including 3M, Cisco, Airbus, P&G, the BBC, and UK Sport
• He is the author of ReadyAlready, and helps people become irreplaceable in an A.I.-driven world with a Future-Ready Mindset
• This is especially relevant to us today because…
• He’s here to share three human superpowers that will help you unlock a lifetime of positive change
• [always end with…] Please welcome… ALLISTER FROST […applause]
