I often talk about curiosity being one of our most powerful AI-defeating human superpowers.
Having the ability to question the status quo, to naively ask “Why?”, helps us better understand the present and make space in our minds where new possibilities can bubble up. Much of working life—processes, systems, rules— seems fixed, constant, nailed down. But very little of it makes complete sense with a little probing. And even less is, or ever was, truly fit-for-purpose. Almost everything can be improved and some simple curiosity always unlocks new possibilities.
That’s why I went to Broadstairs. To do something different. To ask why it was summer in springtime. To find a discarded toy car on the beach. To devour fish and samphire.
Well, OK that’s not why I went to Broadstairs recently. But this is a FROST post, so I had to create a tenuous connection to my work. In truth, I had a day off, and it was lovely.
Have some time off. Feed your curiosity.
