I’ve really been getting into podcasts recently. Not just listening whenever I can, but appearing on them too.
The podcasts I enjoy the most give me a feeling like I’m eavesdropping on an interesting, intimate chat between friends. That’s when it works best. When the conversation just flows and you feel part of it, but not compelled to make any contribution – that’s what I love!
This chat with Sam Reeve on his People Strategy Forum show was fun too. I cover the key steps in my ReadyAlready Growth Cycle, AKA the FROST Framework (!) and other stuff like this:
Mindset matters more than tools:
Success in an AI world isn’t about using the latest software; it’s about having a flexible, Future-Ready Mindset.
AI is “Augmented Intelligence”:
View AI as a helper to enhance human work, not a replacement for it. Humans are vital to scrutinise AI output and add greater creative value.
Assume everything is obsolete:
Adopting the belief that “if it works, it’s already obsolete” encourages you to constantly look for improvements rather than getting stuck in old ways.
Leaders should be learners:
You don’t need to know everything. Leaders should admit they are learning alongside their team rather than pretending to have all the answers. It’s OK to be a learn-it-all.
Don’t wait for certainty:
Waiting for the perfect time to adopt new technology will only make it harder later. Start experimenting now, even if it feels uncertain.
