Free screen estate in Outlook

Here’s a little known shortcut that regular users of Outlook will love, especially those who often switch between a large desktop and a tiny laptop monitor.

Do you ever find that there’s just not enough space on the screen for all those different sections in Outlook? You know the ones: the navigation pane, the message list and that all-important preview pane.

Well, try pressing ALT+F1. Each time you press this secret key combination you’ll toggle to a different screen layout.

This won’t affect the oddly named To-Do Bar in Outlook 2007. To toggle that side of the screen you’ll need to press ALT+F2

Your newly created screen layout is persistent too. Try navigating between your emails and your calendar by pressing CTRL+1, CTRL+2, CTRL+3 etc. With a little practice you’ll be flying from one view to another without even having to think about it.
