Change is easy when you start with toothpaste!
Being future-ready means doing something today because you believe it may benefit your future. But that doesn’t mean you have to kick-off a massive change project.
What’s one teeny-tiny change you can make today to make tomorrow easier? The best changes are often the smallest. So maybe you could start with:
– Neatly squeezing the toothpaste tube from the bottom, so it will be easy to dispense tomorrow
– Reverse parking into your space at work so you can leave faster later
– Applying those long overdue software updates, not ignoring them again
– Emptying the kitchen bin, not compacting it down until it’s ready to explode!
– Washing those dirty pots and pans, not leaving them to soak (we all know they’ll still be there tomorrow!)
– Hanging up your part-worn clothes, not piling them up on your chair-drobe
– Not hitting the snooze button tomorrow, but simply rolling out of bed when you hear your alarm – go on, you can do it!
Little changes like these may make today a bit more difficult, but tomorrow so much better. And this approach to life is a great foundation for developing a Future-Ready Mindset.
Give it a try and let me know how quickly you start benefitting from some little changes. Over time they can have a surprising compound effect!
And what other little things do you robotically do to sabotage your own future? Which will you stop doing first?
